Our story

A copier dealer that behaves like a service company.

Most of what a copier costs you happens after it's delivered: the toner, the service calls, the jams on a Monday morning. That is the part we built the company around.

New York Business Systems opened in 1985 on Fulton Avenue in Garden City Park, selling and servicing office equipment for businesses across the greater New York metropolitan area. Four decades later we are still there, still independent, and still run by people who have spent their careers in this trade.

We carry three manufacturers, Konica Minolta, Canon and Kyocera, so the recommendation can follow your volume and your workflow rather than a single brand's catalog. The technicians who install your machine are NYBS employees dispatched from our own building, not a subcontractor. The supplies team that ships your toner knows your account by name.

That approach is why Konica Minolta has given NYBS its Pro-Tech Service Award for eleven consecutive years, and why so much of our new business walks in as a referral from an existing account.

The things that make a copier painful haven't changed much in forty years. Neither has this list.

01A loaner when a repair will take time

Most calls are fixed on site. When a machine is down and the part it needs is days away, we put a loaner in your office so the work keeps moving while you wait.

02Toner that ships itself

Machines on Konica Minolta vCare or Kyocera Fleet Services report their own supply levels to our team, and we are moving those accounts to automatic toner shipments. Everyone else still gets a human who knows your account.

03Our own technicians

Factory-trained, continually re-certified, dispatched from Garden City Park. You will see the same faces, and they will know your fleet.

04Honest cost and service analysis

Before we quote, we look at your actual volumes, color mix and service history, and show you the per-page math. Sometimes the answer is a smaller machine.

05Straight pricing

We sell on the manufacturers' New York contracts where they apply, and we don't bury costs in the lease. What you see is what you sign.

06Trade-in value you can count on

Upgrading an older machine, ours or anyone else’s? We assess it up front and put the trade-in in writing.

07Parts and supplies in stock

A full local inventory for the brands we sell, so most repairs are completed on the first visit.

08Connected to your network, properly

Print drivers, scan-to-email, secure print and device hardening are set up at install, and supported afterward.

Konica Minolta audits our technicians, parts inventory, dispatch and customer-satisfaction scores every year. NYBS has passed every year since 2015.

vCare and the manufacturers' remote tools report meters, toner levels and fault codes to our team, so toner ships early and technicians arrive knowing the problem.

A local parts inventory for every brand we sell means most repairs are finished the first time we come out.

Your copier spend can count toward your MBE goal.

New York Business Systems is a Minority-Owned Business Enterprise certified by Empire State Development. For agencies, schools, hospitals and contractors working under Article 15-A, that means the copier leases, service agreements, supplies and IT support you are already budgeting can be applied to your participation goal.

Office equipment is one of the easiest places to find those dollars. Payroll, rent and utilities are fixed; the equipment vendor is a choice. And federal funding is not an exemption: New York requires M/WBE compliance even on contracts that are fully federally funded.

Only ESD-certified firms count. We are certified, and we send the paperwork the day you ask for it.
